A Call to Shine
There is a palpable surge of energy in the world right now, radiating from every person, every object, every intention. We are all composed of energy—pure, divine energy. From the computer I’m typing on to the chair beneath me, everything is woven from this same essential force. When our energies interact, they shape and amplify one another, creating waves that extend far beyond what our eyes can see.
With recent events—especially the elections—unfolding around us, many of us are carrying hope, concern, and perhaps a little apprehension in our hearts. Regardless of our views, we all share a common wish for positive change, for a future where humanity can rise above division and come together with purpose and peace. Now, more than ever, is the time to stand as one, allowing our light to shine and lift each other up.
In our Soulful Living Community, we speak often about “being the light.” We aim to illuminate the paths of others, especially in times that feel overshadowed by darkness. Think of the night sky: without the stars casting their brilliance across the heavens, we would see only the vast, endless black. Just as those stars pierce the night, each of us has the power—and the duty—to shine, casting light into the world and upon those who may be struggling to find their own.
Connecting with Others and Asking for Support
It’s a simple truth: being surrounded by supportive, kindred spirits can bring us strength. It’s in sharing, being vulnerable, and uplifting one another that we feel truly seen. If you’re going through a dim moment, I encourage you to reach out. Connection is essential; none of us are meant to navigate life’s darkest times alone. But remember, we cannot rely on one person to lift us up every time we stumble. That’s why communities like ours are so vital. Here, we’re surrounded by a tapestry of souls who are ready to hold space for each other.
For those of you who are deeply sensitive to energy, joining communities that don’t resonate with you might feel draining. Maybe you’ve felt the urge to retreat or protect yourself from environments that feel heavy or unaligned with your spirit. Trust that intuition. Instead, ask yourself: where is your soul calling you to find community?
The Wheel of Life: A Tool for Balance
One way to reflect on where you’re directing your energy is to use a tool called the “Wheel of Life.” This approach lets you check in with yourself, assessing key areas such as:
- Physical health
- Personal relationships
- Career or education
- Finances
- Spirituality
- Recreation and hobbies
- Community involvement
- Domestic life
- Personal growth
- Family and friends
- Physical environment
Consider each area. How are you showing up for yourself? Where do you feel fulfilled? Where might you need more of your own loving attention? I like to take each area and ask myself, “Am I nurturing this part of my life, or have I let it drift?” If there’s a part of your life calling for more, ask how you can pour a bit more of your essence into it. Perhaps it’s joining a spiritual circle, a creative group, or a supportive community that aligns with your soul’s calling.
Creating the Life You Desire
Transformation is something you cultivate from within. While we may long for others to show us the way, the journey of expansion and fulfillment is one only we can create. This is part of the sacred work of being human.
Embrace the power you hold to shape your reality. If you feel stagnant or out of alignment with your deeper purpose, take a step in a new direction. Remember, you are responsible for your own joy, fulfillment, and peace. Surround yourself with those who encourage you to vibrate at your highest, who see the brilliance within you, and who cheer you on as you create a life that resonates with your soul’s desires.
Now is the time to be the light. To reflect that light onto others. And when you find it challenging to see your own light, allow those around you to reflect it back to you. Together, as a community, we are so much more than a single star in the night. We are a constellation, lighting the way for ourselves and each other.
Shine on.
