Beliefs, The True Authority

Uncategorized Feb 05, 2020

Modern science is reaching an age of enlightenment.  Earlier perceptions of separation of mind and body have fallen.  The awareness that emotions, feelings and the power of thought have a direct bearing upon our physical health is becoming main-stream.

We can safely say that thoughts, words, emotions and the physical body are all synergistically linked together. The thought is expressed in an electromagnetic brain wave that sends a message to the neuropeptides (protein-like molecules neurons use to communicate with each other), which in turn is fired off into the central nervous system to produce a result from the human body.

A belief system is a strong or recurring thought that is relayed to the neuropeptides within the message system of the body.  In turn, the physical body reacts to the emotional belief systems that it is conditioned for. When a Belief has been accepted as real by the body or the mind it becomes a “Program.”

The subconscious mind is like a computer’s hard drive.  It contains all of our memories, habits, beliefs, self-image, controls and autonomic bodily functions. The subconscious is estimated to be 95% of our mind, affecting what we do, how we think and how we relate to our environment. This means that when we recognize that one of our beliefs is negative, 5% of our mind wants to change the other 95%.  No small feat.

All the sciences confirm that everything in this universe is energy including our thoughts.  And energy is made up of vibrations and frequencies. So if like energy attracts like energy, and our thoughts are energy, then what we think about is what we attract.

For example: If you experience a lot of frustration and anxiety, you’ll likely attract plenty of situations that keep inciting those feelings—job problems, relationships, family, neighbors, co-workers, money problems. Likewise, if you experience a lot of joy and satisfaction in your life, you’ll most likely keep attracting more situations about which you can be happy.

What you need to know is that the law of attraction process takes place on the subconscious level 95% of the time.  Which means we attract by default – good or bad.

So let’s take a deeper look.

The subconscious mind has programs, instincts and learned experiences. But we acquired most of these fundamental programs in the first seven years of our life – when our brain operated in the theta frequency, which is the predominant brain wave activity of children before seven. It’s the state of imagination, which is why children under seven mix the imaginary and real world together.

The significance of this is in our first seven years we are learning to be a functioning member of society, by observing our parents, family, community, and television.  And all of that gets recorded in the subconscious mind like a video recorder.  Then at some point later in life, some button gets pushed in the subconscious and you automatically spit out a behavior. But here’s the point, it’s not yours you got it from other people.

You have two minds.  The conscious mind, and the subconscious mind. The conscious mind is more about your wishes and desires—the things you want in life, and the subconscious mind, which really doesn’t serve anything you want because it’s made up of programs you acquired along the way to adulthood.  The conscious mind is not time-bound, meaning, if I asked you what you did on your vacation last month, last year, whenever, your conscious mind will move into the past and pull up that memory.  If I ask you what are you doing next Saturday, your conscious mind moves into the future. If I say imagine a blue and yellow kite flying, your conscious mind moves into imagination, and you can see the kite flying in your mind.  The conscious mind travels all the time without thinking.

The subconscious mind is the conscious mind’s default. It’s always in the present moment. It doesn’t see a future or a past.  If I were to ask your subconscious, when did you learn to walk, it would answer--today.  It doesn’t have a time element. It only knows what the program is.

So here’s where it gets interesting. Neuroscience has determined that because the conscious mind is always traveling, it’s only paying attention to the present moment about 5% of the time – this is your wishes and desires.  The other 95% of the time you default to the subconscious mind because the conscious mind isn’t paying attention.

We’re not aware we do this, because we’ve been doing it all our lives.  But we can catch ourselves at it.

Have you ever been driving down a long stretch of road deep in thought, and suddenly you look around wondering where you are and if you missed your turn?

Of course, you have—we all have!

Who’s been driving?

Not the conscious mind.  It’s been off on some past event or conversation from the past, or imaging some future event or conversation.  It’s the subconscious that’s been driving.  Thank goodness someone’s paying attention!

Ninety-five percent of our day we’re running subconscious programs by default. And the significance of this is if our subconscious beliefs are not supporting our wishes and desires, we self-sabotage without even knowing it.

Most believe if you change your conscious mind, your subconscious mind will follow along. The two minds learn in different ways.  You can educate the conscious mind with books, lectures, or have an ah-ha moment. This in no way is translated to subconscious programming.  Which is why you do all of those things, but nothing seems to change.

Rationally and analytically you want to change. But those decisions come from the conscious mind and they require will power.  And that’s the difficult way to create change. Because your will power is the conscious mind talking to itself.  So even if you are successful in changing your habits and behaviors when things get stressful again, you'll default to your old programs.  Dieting is a perfect example of this, which is why I’ve created Tapping for Weight Loss webinar.

When it comes to making changes it really doesn’t matter what your conscious mind wants, its what your subconscious will allow.  And as long as there’s a state of disagreement between the conscious and the subconscious – guess who wins the argument?  That’s right…the subconscious – every time.

This is where EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) comes in. AKA Tapping.  It is one of the most widely used energy psychology modalities because it gently and swiftly gets to the root of what’s going on by balancing the mind and body, changing, what we do, how we feel, and how we experience the world.

So how does EFT fit into all of this?   With amazing efficiency. It halts the flight-or-flight response and reprograms the brain and body to act—and react—differently.

Research at Harvard Medical School over the past two decades has shown that stimulation of selected meridian acupoints decreases activity in the amygdala (region of the brain primarily associated with emotional processes) and other parts of the brain associated with fear. Tapping on meridian acupoints turns off the amygdala’s alarm—deactivating the brain’s arousal pathways, sending a calming response to the body, and the amygdala recognizes that it's safe.  You remain calm, and the hippocampus now categorizes the experience as a non-threatening event.

After a tapping session, I will often hear a client say, “I just can’t connect with it anymore.”  The memory is still there, but there’s no charge – no emotion attached to it.

So what all can tapping be used for: Traumas, addictions, anxiety, overwhelm, pain relief, health issues,  letting go of past issues, self-esteem/image issues, and grief.

Scientists speculate that retraining the limbic system through tapping permanently alters the neural pathways in our brain, which means you can develop new ways of thinking and perceiving the world.  Now that’s exciting!

Studies have shown that the negative effects of frequent stress, real or perceived have injurious effects on the body.  Medical Science has stated our thoughts and emotions affect us all the way down to the deepest level of our cells. Science now realizes that stress is a major epigenetic influence.  Dawson Church said,  “The emotional trauma of stress is now known to affect the expression of over one thousand genes, including many that influence aging and cell regeneration.”  Our lives are filled with stress today, leaving more and more people, worn down, sick, upset, overweight, stressed out, and just generally unhappy with their life situation.

EFT gives us direct access to the world of our subconscious mind and a means of changing beliefs in it.  Changing deep subconscious beliefs empowers people with the ability to remove and replace these negative programs.  When we remove and replace enough belief programs in the brain, the right chemical messengers are released and the receptors accept the chemical message as valid.  Now the person is able to reduce the negative emotional impact of memories and past events, thereby, in most instances, reducing even physical pain.

There have been incredible advancements in conventional medicine that we have all benefited from.  However, our bodies are more than just matter.  It is more than cells running around with autonomic responses, communicating with each other like a biological machine.

We are again waking up to an era in which we are redefining our understanding that our thoughts and emotions have authority within our bodies down to the deepest level of our cells which can negatively or positively influence how a person sees the world, experiences and regulates emotion, and relate to others.

Who can say what the mysterious mechanics of a Healing are?  Who knows what secrets lie in the depths of our body, the brain, and the mind?  We do know that we are racing fast to keep up with the speed of our thoughts.  And it is our thoughts and beliefs that either drives us forward or hold us back.
